APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The city of Appleton is reporting five more cases of coronavirus since Friday.
According to a news release from the city, the total number of confirmed cases is now 54 in Appleton.
There are currently 36 residents in isolation. 17 residents who had COVID-19 have been released from isolation. One resident has passed away from the virus.
Of the new cases, the city says four residents live in the Calumet County portion of the city. One resident lives in the Outagamie County portion of the city. All five cases were acquired through contact with a person confirmed to have COVID-19. Each of those recently testing positive for the COVID-19 virus are in isolation.
The health department is working on contact investigations with these cases.
