APPLETON (NBC 26) - Check your Facebook feeds! An area organization wants to give away gift certificates to support local businesses.
Starting this week, Appleton Downtown Inc. is giving away $500 weekly to support local shops downtown. They'll be mailed out in the form of a $25 gift card. All you have to do is share online about how you're supporting downtown businesses.
"They're our individual entrepreneurs and families that have poured their heart and soul into building their business," said Jennifer Stephany, the organization's executive director. "The cash flow piece is really important which is why we're talking about gift certificates, so they get that infusion of cash right now that might help them hang on through this."
