Former youth aviation camp leader sentenced to 5 years behind bars for child sexual assault

A former youth aviation camp leader has been sentenced to five years behind bars and 10 years extended supervision for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy.

Robb Szymik, 47, had pleaded guilty in Outagamie County court to charges of sexual assault of a child and child enticement.Four other charges were dropped.

Szymik is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in July of 2017 on the Oneida Reservation.

He met the teen on the app "Grindr" in May 2017, the criminal complaint said. The teen told officers Szymik offered him money for sex, according to court documents.

Szymik then allegedly contacted the teen again on July 5, 2017. The two met in Szymik's truck where he allegedly sexually assaulted him, the criminal complaint said.

For more than two decades, Szymik served as the vice president of a youth aviation camp. He was removed from any involvement with the camp after charges were filed.
