Wisconsin tops 50,000 COVID-19 cases, more than 900 deaths

MADISON (NBC 26) -- Wisconsin has now confirmed more than 50,000 coronavirus cases, according to new data reported Tuesday.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 762 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, leaving the state total at 50,179. 78% of that total have since recovered. There are 9,742 active cases in the state.

Wisconsin also hit another sad milestone in tracking the virus: 13 more deaths were reported in the state Tuesday, resulting in a death total that is now 906.

The percent positive rate dropped from previous days to 5.3%. It hasn't been that low since last week.
