Senator Tammy Baldwin is asking for more transparency from the meat packaging plants.
She says CEOs from the nation’s top plants like JBS in Green Bay need to show what conditions are like inside the plants
"We cannot order workers back to work if they have to risk their lives, their health and their families lives and health by doing so,” said Senator Baldwin. “So, these meat packing plants to need to step up and make sure they are meeting and exceeding the guidelines for protecting their workers."
Baldwin says she plans to introduce a bill to congress that would make it easier for essential workers to get more protective gear.
