New record for coronavirus testing in Wisconsin: More than 16,000 tests

More than 16,000 coronavirus tests have been conducted in a 24-hour period in Wisconsin, according to new data from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. It's a jump from the number of tests conducted the day before, which was just over 10,000.

The new numbers released Wednesday shows only 2.9% of those tests came back positive for COVID-19. 483 new cases of coronavirus were reported.

As of Wednesday, 616 people have died in Wisconsin from coronavirus. 2,700 people have been hospitalized.

Wisconsin now has a total of 19,400 positive coronavirus test results and 279,711 negative test results.
