NEENAH (NBC 26) -- A manufacturer in Neenah says it is temporarily closing its doors after some of its employees tested positive for coronavirus.
The Eggers Division of VT Industries is a manufacturer of architectural wood doors and employs a total of 273 employees at its facility in Neenah. The company said in a statement Friday that it has confirmed COVID-19 cases representing less than 6% of its total workforce.
The company said it was deemed an essential business under the Governor's Safer at Home order and has continued to operate while following guidelines from the CDC and working with the Winnebago County Health Department.
VT Industries said the shutdown of the Neenah facility was voluntary.
The company said it notified employees of a temporary shutdown starting Friday afternoon, with a plan to resume operations at the facility starting with 3rd shift on May 10.
Additionally, prior to the shutdown, the company said it arranged for some office staff to work from home, other staff to wear face masks and practice social distancing, increased the frequency of cleaning and sanitizing, and did mandatory temperature checks for all employees.
