APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The City of Appleton announced Tuesday that it has another resident who tested positive for coronavirus. Appleton City Hall said on its Facebook page that this latest case brings the total number of confirmed cases to 19.
The city says there are currently nine residents in isolation. Nine residents who had COVID-19 have been released from isolation. One resident has passed away from the virus.
The most recent case of COVID-19 lives in the Outagamie County portion of the city and is in isolation. The case was acquired through contact with a person confirmed to have COVID-19, the city says.
The health department is investigating to identify and follow-up with any people who had close contact with the sick person. People who came in contact with the infected person will be required to do daily symptom and temperature checks, as well as quarantine themselves for 14 days as a precaution.
