Appleton Festival Foods Fireworks show canceled due to coronavirus

APPLETON (NBC 26) -- An annual fireworks show set for July in Appleton has been canceled due to concerns surrounding coronavirus.

The organizers for the annual Appleton Festival Foods Fireworks announced Thursday the event for 2020 will be canceled. It had originally been slated for July 3.

Appleton Area Jaycees state in a Facebook post that the uncertainty around the spread of COVID-19, and the restrictions put in place by Governor Evers, has resulted in some "tough decisions".

Organizers are looking forward to 2021.

Appleton Jaycees said they are still on track to run their annual kickball tournament, first annual carnival, and Christmas shopping event for the kids in the community.
