Conservationists and area leaders gathered in Green Bay Tuesday to highlight increasing threats to the Great Lakes, as well as ways to protect their waters.

Invasive species and possible rollback of the Clean Water Act have caused concern for conservationists in regards to the health of the Great Lakes.

On Tuesday, they talked about efforts to fight those threats.

"The Great Lakes are part of what makes us Wisconsin," said Seth Hoffmeister with the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters. "When we have so many threats, whether it's Foxconn threatening the Great Lakes Compact, whether it's Asian carp knocking at our door, there's really a lot of work to be done to protect some of the things we might often take for granted."
