The Wisconsin 2020 game and fish season officially opened on Saturday but getting fishing equipment is a bit harder to get this year because of restrictions due to Covid-19.
"It's real frustrating because every other weekend I'm in here buying something. I bet ya, 50 percent of who's out here would probably be in this store shopping right here," fisherman Adam Gauthier said.
There's nobody who understand his frustration more than Jeff "Tilky" Tilkins, the owner of Smokey's on the Bay.
"Its really tough, it's hard. Usually when I'm here, ill be open all day long. It's a constant flow of people, but now its hit or miss," Tilkins said. "Last year I was open at 5am and I had about 100 people in my store. Today I was lucky if I had 25 people."
He's seen a sharp decline in customers because they're not allowed inside of the shop. If customers need fishing equipment they have to pick it curbside.
"It's nice because he's allowing himself to help us. Hopefully this goes away because me personally I need to get in there and buy stuff," Gauthier said.
"It makes me feel good that I'm able to help people out, but I want everybody to be safe," Tilkins said.
