Fond du Lac Fire says a vehicle fire spread to two homes on the 400 block of 4th street just after 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening.
First responders say the owner tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher, but couldn't.
A careless use of smoking materials started the fire, according to a press release.
No one was injured.
