The Brown County Sheriff's Office is warning folks about a scam.
The communications center received at least two calls Tuesday where the caller identified himself as a Lieutenant or Sergeant with the Sheriff's Office.
The caller in one case said due to reported failure to appear for jury duty, money was owed via purchased gift cards such as ITunes.
The Sheriff's Office will never ask for gift cards as payment.
If you receive a call like this, hang up.
