A 9-1-1 call from a pizza delivery man led to police knocking on a door. Inside, authorities say they found a woman who'd been beaten and feared for her life.
Last week, pizza delivery driver Joey Grundl was making a delivery to a home in the town of waldo. When he arrived at the home, he noticed a woman signaling for help.
Grundl was delivering pizza to 55-year-old Dean Hoffman. In the 9-1-1 call, Grundl says he noticed a woman point towards a black eye while mouthing the words "help me" and "call the police."
That's when Grundl made the call immediately to authorities. Officers arrested Hoffman shortly after Grundl made the call.
Hoffman faces five felony charges of domestic abuse, including kidnapping and false imprisonment. A court date has not been set yet.
