GREEN BAY — The Wisconsin Women in Nature Archery Program highlighted important role of women in Archery.

Event Organizers say it is important for women to partake in activities such as archery because it makes them feel empowered. On saturday, the lessons women learned is about shooting and not hunting. It also focused on the discipline that comes with learning how to use a bow and arrow.

"They are developing the skills through archer," said Doug Thompson, the sport shooting coordinator for adults. "It is also fun to shoot, it is something someone can do at campr or in their backyard."

The program is in partnership with Brown County Parks.
