APPLETON, Wis. — National Night Out got its start in August of 1984. The first annual National Night Out involved 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states. The event has since grown with 16,000 communities participating and more than 38 million neighbors joining in on the fun!
The Appleton Police Department is adding to National Night Out! This year they're hosting its first ever block party at Houdini Plaza from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be facepainting, games and freebies for kids!
