A dream comes true for another child on day one of Packers Training Camp.

Ava Gehrung, 12, from Hartford, Wis. received an adaptive bike from the Green Bay Packers, American Family Insurance and Variety – the Children’s Charity of Wisconsin.

The bike gives Ava a new experience that many take for granted.

“To see the Packers see her and stop and back track and say of course I’ll sign her helmet, of course, I’ll take a picture with her, it was pretty special,” said her mom.

According to leaders with the program, since starting in 2010, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Wisconsin has provided about 200 customized adaptive bikes for Wisconsin kids challenged by physical disabilities

Each bike can cost as much as $4,000

There are 24 Wisconsin kids are on the bike waiting list, with an estimated cost of nearly $50,000 to build the bikes.
