Four "Welcome to Hobart" signs around the Village of Hobart were vandalized during the overnight hours of Thursday to Friday, and now Oneida Police are looking for those responsible.

Vandals used purple spray paint to each of the signs. The signs were permanently damaged and will cost thousands of dollars to fix, according to Village Administrator Aaron Kramer.

“This most recent act of vandalism, in addition to the vandalism that was done earlier this week to a separate, temporary Village sign welcoming the LPGA to our community, is disturbing, and is being taken very seriously by Village officials and law enforcement,” said Kramer. “I, along with other Village officials, cannot condemn in strong enough words the senseless and disrespectful nature of these acts."

As Kramer said, a welcome sign at the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in Hobart was also vandalized

Police say the instances are increasing and they would like the public to help.
