High school is a time full trials and tribulations, new friendships and self discovery.

14 De Pere high school students open up about their experience in a book titled "High School Life." The students 9th through 12th grade chronicled their high school experience month to month in short essays.

"The students were really open and honest and I give the kids credit for that," said Journalism Teacher Rob Guyette.

The goal of the students to show adults and classmates that there are more similarities between teens than differences.

"Perfect and wanting to do everything right I think that is something that every student struggles with," said Jade. Writing it down made it feel more real, Like this is something that is actually happening," said Michael Grimes.

"Teenagers get stereotyped into different categories this gave us away to say this isn't what we are we're not just the jocks, nerds and geeks a lot of us cross a lot of sections," said Abby <span class="SpellingError SCX34899289" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; -webkit-user-select: text; -webkit-user-drag: none; -webkit-tap-highlight-color: transparent; border-bottom: 1px solid transparent; background-image: url(" data:image="" gif;base64,r0lgodlhbqaeajecap="" 8aaaaaaaaaach5baeaaaialaaaaaafaaqaaaiilgaxcchrtcgaow="=");" background-color:="" inherit;="" background-position:="" left="" bottom;="" background-repeat:="" repeat-x;"="">Allcox
