Green Bay man charged for fatal drunk driving crash on I-41

A Green Bay man has been charged for allegedly drunk driving and causing a crash on I-41 that killed one person near the Town of Lawrence.

Shay Smyser was charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and operating while intoxicated causing injury. He's being held on a $20,000 cash bond.

Gary S. Schuller, 62, of Colorado, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Smyser is accused of speeding on I-41 southbound Sunday just before noon while drunk.

He allegedly lost control of his car just south of Scheuring Road in the Town of Lawrence when trying to switch lanes. Smyser ultimately hit Schuller, who was outside of his car on the shoulder of the highway, according to court documents.

Smyser also allegedly struck Schuller's car during the crash.

He's back in court May 2nd.
