Black bear spotted in West Green Bay

Green Bay Police have taken three reports about a black bear on the city's west side. The department says the bear was spotted in the area of Lombardi Middle School Tuesday, August 1st. Green Bay police reporting two other sightings that same day on Lobelia Court and West Point Road.

Green Bay Police posting to Facebook, "The Green Bay Thus far the bear has not been seen with any cubs and it also appears to still have a fear of humans. Black bears typically do not show any aggression unless they are with cubs, are cornered, or otherwise threatened. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified and is aware of the situation."

If you do see the bear, do not approach it, The police department asks citizens to note the time and location and call it into the at (920) 360-5979.
