Just before 11 AM the Appleton Fire Department and Neenah Menasha Fire Rescue were dispatched to Ashbrook Street for a fire.

Crews arrived to a mobile home with heavy smoke and flames. It took only a few minutes for crews to get the fire under control.

A woman was home at the time of the fire but she was able to escape through a window without being injured.

She was treated by Gold Cross Ambulance and released. The American Red Cross is now assisting.

It is unclear at this point if the home had working smoke detectors, so the fire department is reminding residents that every home should have working detectors on every level as well as near all sleeping areas.

The home was heavily damaged in the fire. Officials are still looking for the cause.
