Pregame story

For the ninth consecutive time, the Green Bay Packers are playing in a must-win game. But this time, it's for their sixth trip to a Super Bowl.

The Packers have won eight of these must-win games in a row already. Their next challenge: The Atlanta Falcons.

Like the previous opponent, the Dallas Cowboys, the Falcons are a team who beat Green Bay in the regular season. Last week, the Packers avenged defeat and advanced in the playoffs to the title game.

This time may not appear as hard on paper, but the Falcons are no slouch.

They have the probable next MVP quarterback in Matt Ryan, who have scored 28 or more points in seven straight games -- six of them wins.

They have a defense that has given up 20 or fewer points in five of those seven games.

However, they have not faced Aaron Rodgers, who is playing perhaps the best football of his future Hall of Fame career.

The Packers have scored 30 points in six straight games -- an offensive juggernaut thanks to Rodgers and company.

Stay tuned. This will be fun. And possibly Super.
