Good samaritans save woman and child after vehicle crashes into Wolf River

TOWN OF MUKWA, Wis (NBC 26) -- A woman and child are saved after two good samaritans pulled them out of their vehicle after it crashed int the Wolf River.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle traveling eastbound on County Highway X at Broadway Street in the Town of Mukwa went off the road and crashed into the Wolf River just before 4:00 Thursday afternoon.

Two good samaritans nearby were able to break the vehicle's window and free the female driver and child who were trapped inside.

Both the driver and child were taken to Theda Care New London for precautionary measures.

The driver suffered minor injuries. The child was uninjured.

The vehicle has been removed from the river.

The crash is still under investigation.
