What you need to know for the Fox Cities Marathon this weekend

FOX VALLEY, Wis. — It's finally the weekend for the big race! The 29th annual Community First Fox Cities Marathon presented by Miron is this weekend. The fun gets started Friday night with the Kids Fun Run and other family-friendly events at Fox Cities Stadium. There is also the Health and Wellness expo Friday and Saturday ahead of race day for the half, full and relay marathons.

Friday, September 19th at Neuroscience Group Field @ Fox Cities Stadium.

Guardian Kids Fun Run & Huggies® Diaper Dash/Toddler Trot

5 p.m. - Huggies® Toddler Trot (on field)

5:45 p.m. - Guardian Kids Fun Run Mini-Dash (age 6 and under)

6:30 p.m. - Guardian Kids Fun Run 1/4 mile run (1 lap around the track)

7 p.m. - Guardian Kids Fun Run 1/2 mile run (2 laps around the stadium on the track)

The Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists (OSMS) Health & Wellness Expo is also Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Fox Cities Campus Field House and Communication Arts Center (entrance 16W) in Menasha.

The expo has a new layout and will feature more than 40 vendors and additional seminars for participants. The seminars are held at the UW Oshkosh Fox Cities Campus Field House and Communication Arts Center and are as follows:

Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. - Causes of Foot Pain All Runners Need to Know with OSMS Dr. Gregory Kirwan, Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Specialist

Friday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. - The Benefits of Cross-Training for Runners with Lisa Van Wyk, owner and president of Blaze Sports & Fitness

Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. - Knee Arthritis in the Running Athlete with OSMS Dr. Will Albiero

Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. - First Timers Question & Answer Session with veteran marathoner Dean Peterson
