MORGAN, Wis. — A 57-year-old man who died in a crash has now been identified as Roger Pautz from the City of Oconto Falls.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. Saturday on County Highway E west of Havlik Road in the Township of Morgan.
Oconto County Sheriff's deputies said an SUV headed east crossed the centerline and hit a pickup truck head on. The Sheriff's Office says from witness statements, it appears Pautz’s SUV was driving in the wrong lane for a period of time before it struck a pickup driven by a 43-year-old man from Sobieski, who was treated at the scene for his injuries and released. The driver of the pickup has not been identified.
The cause of the crash is unknown and is still under investigation.
Deputies said speed and alcohol don't seem to be factors in this crash.
