The Green Bay Police Department wants to take some of the worry out of meeting up with buyers or sellers of online items.

The department has set up an "Internet Purchase Exchange Location" in the parking lot of the East Side Community Policing Center adjacent to 315 S. Baird Street.

The parking lot is under surveillance 24 hours a day and is clearly posted, police said.

Officers are encouraging people to use this location.

"It creates a safe, well-lit, monitored area which improves the security of in-person transactions," the department said in a press release.

The exchange location signs were donated by the Wisconsin Crime Prevention Practicioners Association, the department said.
