Special Weather Statement until 11PM CST THU Issued February, 14 2019 at 8:40 PM - US/Central expires February, 14 2019 at 11:00 PM - US/Central ...A QUICK BURST OF MODERATE TO BRIEFLY HEAVY SNOW AND SOME BLOWING SNOW WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS THIS EVENING... A QUICK MOVING BAND OF MODERATE TO BRIEFLY HEAVY SNOW CONTINUES TO MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THIS EVENING. THE BAND OF SNOW, STRETCHING FROM MARINETTE, OCONTO, MENOMINEE, SHAWANO, OUTAGAMIE AND WINNEBAGO COUNTIES AS OF 830 PM, WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH FAR NORTHEAST AND EAST-CENTRAL WISCONSIN UNTIL AROUND 1030 PM. THE BAND OF SNOW WILL CAUSE VISIBILITIES TO QUICKLY DROP BELOW A MILE IN THE HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS. THIS BAND OF SNOW WILL DROP UP TO A QUICK INCH OF SNOW AS IT MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. THE COMBINATION OF THE NEW OR FALLING SNOW, GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH AND BLOWING SNOW WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL FOR MOTORISTS. ROADS AND BRIDGES ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME SLIPPERY, ESPECIALLY AS TEMPERATURES FALL WELL BELOW FREEZING THIS EVENING. THE MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT WILL ALSO LEAD TO RE- FREEZING OF ANY WATER REMAINING ON AREA ROADWAYS FROM THE SNOWMELT EARLIER IN THE DAY.
