Update: Victim in Green Bay Homicide Identified

UPDATE--Police identified the victim of the homicide on Bellevue St. as 32-year-old David Shorter. Police were called to the 800 block for a reports of shots fired. 

When officers arrived they found a male with a gunshot wound. The male was transferred to a local hospital where he later died.

GREEN BAY, WI---- Police are now investigating a homicide. Police say the received a call of shots fired in the 800 block of Bellevue St. on the city’s east side around 11 p.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived they found a male with a gunshot wound. The male was transferred to a local hospital where he later died.

His name is not being released, but police say he is a 32-year-old Green Bay resident. Police don’t believe this was a random act and the public is not in any immediate danger.

“The investigation is ongoing officers are processing the scene trying to locate witnesses and trying to put this all together to determine a motive, to determine some leads," says Capt. Kevin Warych with the Green Bay Police Department.

Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward.
