An Appleton man was hurt, but will also face charges, after trying to car surf on a stranger's car Monday morning.

A 33-year-old Menasha man was driving on the 300 block of S. Badger Ave sometime before 5:50 a.m. when a man with a skateboard jumped onto the hood of his car, Appleton Police said.

The driver yelled to the man to get off, but he refused and raised his skateboard in a threatening manner, police said.

The Menasha man then started driving to the Appleton Police Department, but the 27-year-old Appleton man jumped off the moving vehicle on W. Lawrence Street near Memorial Drive, according to officers.

The driver went to Appleton Police to report what had happened. Police found the Appleton man on the 600 block of W. Lawrence Street around 5:50 a.m. with a head injury.

The man was brought to the hospital, treated and released. He's now being referred to the Outagamie County District Attorney's Office for Disorderly Conduct and Damage to Property.
