TWO RIVERS (NBC 26) -- Two Rivers City Council President, Patrick Gagnon, passed away at age 70 Saturday morning.

Patrick served on the Two Rivers City Council from 2015 to 2020, and on the Two Rivers Public School Board of Education from 1979 to 1994. He worked at the Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, first as a staff librarian then as a professor of history until his retirement in 2013.

The city said "Patrick's love for Two Rivers ran as deep as his roots in this special city on the lake. He studied and celebrated the history of this place, and respected the sensibilities of its people. He left his mark here, and he will be missed."

Services will be held February 20th.
