Update from police: "The victim in this case has been identified as Michael Kirsch, age 23, of Sheboygan. The case has been referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney's Office and is under review. The suspect remains in custody on a probation hold during the review. "

SHEBOYGAN (NBC 26) -- A 23-year-old man has died as the result of a gunshot wound, Sheboygan Police said Thursday.
Police said officers responded to the 1000 block of Clara Avenue on Thursday afternoon. A suspect is in custody.
Drivers are asked to choose alternate routes near Clara Ave.
Police do not believe there is any danger to the public but requests people avoid the area.
