GREEN BAY (NBC26) - A record amount of drivers are expected on the roads throughout the next few days. So how do you pass the travel time?

“Music; music is definitely key to me,” said David Duvall of Allouez.

“Listening to my music,” added Mary Nelson of Green Bay. “I love my oldies music and old country.”

While many drivers will be jamming out, don’t forget to pay attention to the road while singing! Triple A expects drive times to double in major cities, including Chicago. However, many drivers in western Wisconsin haven’t seemed to notice the extra holiday traffic.

“I have not and I commute a lot,” said Jennifer Jelenic of Green Bay. “It seems a little busier than normal. It seems a little calmer this year in my opinion.”

“It’s a lot lighter to be honest with you,” Duvall added. “Coming from Chicago there's a ton more traffic than here; but it seems like it's a lot lighter.”

Triple A says more than 104 million people are expected to drive to their holiday destinations, that’s a nearly 4 percent increase from last year. And the worst day for traveling is yet to come. It's expected to be December 26th, the day after Christmas.

So patience, and maybe a few holiday tunes may help you navigate the road over the next few days!

“Merry Christmas to everybody, have a great year, great holiday and a prosperous new year,” Duvall said.
