OSHKOSH (NBC 26) —The Oshkosh Public Library announced they will resume contactless curbside pickup and accept drop box returns starting Monday.
Library pickup was temporarily suspended after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The Library says the staff member has since recovered and no additional cases have been reported at this time.
Staff say the library building remains closed to the public, but has been sanitized as recommended by CDC guidelines. Staff will be available during regular business hours to provide assistance.
“We thank everyone for their patience as we get this service up and running again in a way that is safe for our staff and the community,” said Library Director Jeff Gilderson-Duwe. “We continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and the Winnebago County Health Department as we move forward.”
Curbside pickup will continue with scheduled appointments. Staff say they will call to reschedule those whose appointments were canceled when service was suspended.
According to staff, library materials can be returned in the drop boxes on Mount Vernon St. starting Monday as well. They will continue to quarantine the materials for 72 hours after they are returned, so wait times may be longer than usual.
Because of the holding period, staff say materials from other libraries may continue to appear on your account after they are returned. However, fines will not be assessed during that time. Additionally, due dates for all materials have been extended to June 25 or later.
You can place holds on library materials at OshkoshPublicLibrary.org or by calling Informational Services at (920) 236-5205.
Chat services are also available on the library's website or by texting (920) 315-8838 (message and data rates may apply). You can also email Reference@OshkoshPublicLibrary.org or call Children's & Family Outreach at (920) 236-5208.
