OSHKOSH (NBC 26 ) -- As the cold weather continues, the Oshkosh Public Library is hosting a book drive and mitten tree to benefit local children.

The Library wants to share the joy of reading and help keep children warm this winter. It is asking people to donate new books along with children's winter clothing items.

Books can be dropped off in the library's front lobby. Clothing such as new mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves should be brought to the library's Lower Level Children's Department to hang on their mitten tree.

Donations will be accepted until December 12th.

The Oshkosh Salvation Army will be helping to distribute the books and winter gear to local children.
