GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- The Green Bay Police Department says it will be conducting a traffic compliance and enforcement exercise Jan. 30th. This is part of the department's ongoing initiative named "Slow Down Green Bay" that's focused on an increase of traffic safety in 2020.

The Department says its exercise will focus on a number of school zones and the residential areas surrounding those schools. This exercise is to make sure drivers are adhering to the traffic regulations in those areas.

According to the Department, the goal is to see full compliance and safe driving habits.

Some, but not all, targeted areas on the west side include West High School, Southwest High School, and Elementary schools such as Jackson, Kennedy, MacArthur, and Keller.

Schools on the east side will include Aldo Leopold, Nicolet Elementary, and the Prebel High School area.

The Department reminds drivers to lead by example by practicing safe driving habits.
