GREEN BAY -- The Chief of Green Bay Police says he's not applying for the Chief position in Milwaukee.
In a statement posted on the Green Bay Police Department's Facebook page on Monday, Chief Andrew Smith wrote that reports of him applying for the Chief of Police position in Milwaukee are not true. He called it "a fabricated and unfounded rumor."
"I have great respect for Milwaukee Police Chief Al Morales," the Chief stated. "The rumors of me applying or being considered for the Chief of Police in Milwaukee are completely false."
Chief Smith said he and his family love being in Green Bay and have no plans to leave.
