GRAND CHUTE — Grand Chute Police are searching for a suspect accused of nearly hitting an officer with a vehicle before speeding away.

The case started when officers responded to the parking lot of a Burger King, 2511 W. College Avenue, at about 8 p.m. Sunday for report of a man in a vehicle. Police say they received information that the man had been in his vehicle for three hours and was appearing to fall asleep while in the driver’s seat.

Police identified the man as Rory J. Behling. As officers were investigating, police say Behling backed his vehicle into one of the officer’s squad cars, nearly hitting an officer, and then sped away. Police chased after the suspect for a short distance before calling the chase off.

Police say Behling's vehicle was found a short time after the chase in a nearby neighborhood. Officers used a K9 and a drone to search for him, but police say they couldn't find him. Behling now has a warrant out for his arrest and is facing criminal charges related to this incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
