GREEN BAY, Wis. — Give BIG Green Bay 2019 event raised a total of $1,387,860, the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation said Wednesday.
The 24-hour donation event ran from February 20 through February 21. The money raised goes toward 40 local nonprofits that benefit the community.
The total of $1,387,860 also includes $1,075,360 of donor contributions along with $250,000 in matching funds from the Green Bay Packers Foundation and $62,500 in additional prizes and incentives, the Foundation says.
Greater Green Bay Community Foundation also says the total number of donors doubled over the program’s inaugural year and drove an 82 percent increase in contributions to nonprofit organizations.
Thousands of people across the country supported the event by donating online at givebiggreenbay.org.
