A former Little Chute High School teacher accused of sexually assaulting a student was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison.

According to previous reports, Jason LaVigne was accused of sexually assaulting a high school student in 1999. A criminal complaint says the victim reported those allegations to district leaders in 2009. According to a previous NBC26 report, the complaint says superintendent David Botz investigated but did not report the alleged assault to police.

In addition to the five year sentence, court documents show LaVigne was also sentenced to 11 years of extended supervision.

Online court records show LaVigne is also facing another trial for 3rd Degree Sexual Assault in Marinette County. In the Marinette County case, LaVigne was accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl on a pontoon boat near Crivitz, according to a previous NBC 26 story.
