Fond du Lac Police investigate attempted child enticement

FOND DU LAC (NBC 26) -- Fond du Lac Police Department is investigating a report that a man tried to lure a young child to his truck with the promise of ice cream.

Police say officers are investigating a report of an attempted child enticement that happened around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at Catherine Whittier Park.

According to police, the aunt of a 4-year-old girl said that while at the park, a man approached the child and asked her if she wanted ice-cream and asked her to come to his truck. The aunt intervened and the suspect was seen driving away eastbound from the park.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a white colored newer mid-size Chevy SUV 4-door with tinted windows with half of the Chevy logo on the back scratched off.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 40’s, with medium build, approximately 5-feet 8-inches tall, with shoulder length gray hair and minimal facial scruff. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants with cargo pockets, white t-shirt, black zip up hooded sweatshirt with a dark blue colored baseball cap.
