WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. — WisDOT announces a lane closure from 12:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, on westbound US 10/southbound WIS 411 from Oneida Street to Racine Road (County P) for emergency pavement repair near the Racine Road exit ramp.
WisDOT says the highway will be down to one lane while repairs take place. Motorists should expect significant backups and slow traffic during the evening commute. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Wide-load vehicles are required to find an alternate route.
According to WisDOT, construction crews will be repairing a large pothole at the location. Rain overnight caused the pavement to fail and create a large pothole, WisDOT says in a news release. Crews will use hot-mix asphalt trucked in from Milwaukee to reduce the risk of the pothole reforming until a permanent pavement fix can be conducted in the spring.
The westbound US 10 /southbound WIS 441 on-ramp from WIS 47/Appleton Road and the westbound US 10 /southbound WIS 441 off-ramp to County P/Racine Road will also be closed while the repair is taking place.
All lane restrictions and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change.
