MENASHA (NBC 26) -- A driver is accused of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian with a service dog.
Menasha Police said a 60-year-old man was found injured next to his motorized scooter at the intersection of Second Street and Appleton Street on Sunday.
Police said a pickup truck hit the man and his service dog in the crosswalk, and then drove off. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The service dog had run off but was reunited with the victim later in the evening. Police said the dog was limping but is expected to recover.
According to Menasha Police, the driver, a 28 year old Menasha man, was found a short time later and arrested.
Police said charges were referred to the District Attorney's office of Hit and Run causing injury, Operating While Suspended, OWI first offense causing injury, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
