Dozens of local organizations receive grant funds

APPLETON (NBC 26) -- The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region announced that 44 local organizations will receive grants totaling $114,000 from its Bright Idea Fund.

The groups receiving the funds include arts, culture and environmental organizations, as well as organizations engaged in racial and ethnic support, advocacy and leadership work in the Fox Valley region.

The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region cited hardships brought on by the COVID-19 crisis and how the shutdowns related to coronavirus have negatively impacted arts organizations. The foundation also noted how COVID-19 has disproportionately affected racial and ethnic minorities.
