DE PERE, Wis. — One dog died after a fire in De Pere, according to a news release.
Crews got the call to the 1800 block of S. Sunkist Circle just after 11:30 a.m. Friday.
Firefighters put out a fire that was in the kitchen and going into the attic of the single family home at the location, crews said.
No one was home, but two dogs were in the home.
One dog died from smoke inhalation; the other was rescued.
No injuries to crews or bystanders were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
