CALUMET COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Calumet County Circuit Court is suspending all in-person hearings until further notice.
The court announced Wednesday afternoon that the temporary suspension was due to, "the increasingly high rate of COVID-19 cases and community spread in our area."
All hearings will be held via phone. The court says there will be a staff member at the entrance of the Courthouse to ensure anyone arriving will be turned away and instructed of the change. Members of the public, crime victims and others who wish to attend a hearing remotely may contact the judicial assistant at (920) 849-1465 to receive call in directions.
This announcement comes a day after Brown and Outagamie counties suspended in-person court proceedings.
