BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Brown County has a total 2,321 coronavirus cases as of Thursday, with the Oneida Nation reporting 40 cases. The county also reported three new deaths.

The numbers were released during the county's final media briefing on coronavirus in the county. After Friday, the public is asked to consult the Wisconsin's Department of Health Services website for new information on coronavirus.

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach said although many are longing to see everything return to normal, the quickest and safest way will be to adhere to the advice provided by medical and public health experts.

The key data to monitor for how the community is doing, Prevea Health President and CEO Dr. Ashok Rai said, is the daily trend of the percentage of positive test results and the capacity of local health systems.

Through the county's reopening plan, Streckenbach said he hopes to continue to building consumer confidence so that more people become comfortable re-engaging with the economy.
