KIMBERLY, WIS. (NBC 26) - They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, and that's how a local facility is bringing awareness to National Autism Awareness Month.
TheConnections Autism Centerin Kimberly said social distancing can be especially hard on someone with the disorder and their families.
"They're used to going to school all day and going to therapy after school, or they're in therapy all day, and establishing those routines is a challenge for families," said Jessica Meyer with the facility.
To show your support, the center is asking you to take a picture with Autism Andy (in the picture above) and upload it to social media. The picture was drawn by Meyer's 11-year-old son.
