Keshena man indicted for child sex offenses on Menominee Indian Reservation

A Keshena man has been charged in federal court for child sex offenses involving children under 12 years old.

Ricki A. Mahkimetas, Jr., 24, of Keshena, was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse.

According to the indictment, Mahkimetas allegedly engaged with sex acts on two different dates with two children at residences in the Menominee Indian Reservation.

The first count charges Mahkimetas with trying to engage in a sex act with a girl who was under 12 years old in August 2017.

Count two charges the defendant with engaging in a sex act with a girl who was under 12 in March of 2016.

On each charge, Mahkimetas faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years, and up to life, in prison.

The case was investigated by the Menominee Tribal Police Department and FBI, with help from the Willow Tree Cornerstone Child Advocacy Center in Green Bay.
