James Luke, charged in connection in connection with a September 2015 prison attack at Green Bay Correctional Institution appeared in court Thursday Morning. Luke faces several counts including battery by a prisoner, strangulation and false imprisonment.
According to court documents, Luke attacked a prison psychologist, a 54-year-old woman, while she was counseling him. She had turned to read him something from a computer screen when he attacked her from behind.
She bit his hand and he removed it, allowing her to scream for help, the complaint says.
Luke pleaded not guilty to the charges and his attorney asked for a mental evaluation.
